Installing OpenLinux Getting Started Guide 43 Using the Custom Option to Prepare a Hard Disk When you select the Custom option and choose Next, you see the partition tool shown in Figure 21. FIGURE 21.  The Custom Partitioning option provides tools for creating and editing the partitions on your system. CAUTION: If you are not familiar with Linux device names and disk partitioning, you should back up critical data on your hard disk before using the custom partitioning tool. Use this screen to edit and define the partitions on your hard disks. The partition type is shown in the System field. NOTE: If part of a column is hidden, click on the dividing line between the column names and drag to expand the col- umn so that you can see all of its contents. You can select any partition on your system, then choose Edit or Delete to change that partition definition.
